Garment work with a new purpose

We handle redesign consultations, dress and skirt remodelling, shirt and jacket restyling, vintage fit updates, and fabric-reuse accessory projects. Our approach is practical and design-led, with each concept shaped around the garment itself.

Before any final quote, we assess the item and discuss what is realistically possible. That way, the work stays clear from the first fitting through to collection.

Our story

A studio built around thoughtful alteration

Silver Stitch grew from a simple idea: good clothing should not be discarded too soon. Some pieces need a better fit, while others need a complete rethink to stay useful and wearable.

Founded by Leyla Mammadova, the studio has focused on appointment-led tailoring since 2016. The work is guided by the condition of the garment, the available fabric, and the design direction approved during consultation.

Clients come to us with everyday clothing, vintage pieces, and garments with personal meaning. In each case, the aim is to preserve what matters while improving how the piece works in real life.

Collection includes a final fit or finish review, so the garment can be checked again before it leaves the studio.

The way we work

Our process is built to keep alteration and remodelling work practical, transparent, and shaped by the garment in front of us.

Clear project review

We begin with a garment and material assessment, then move into redesign only after the concept is approved. That keeps the process clear and realistic from the start.

Design within the garment

Our work is shaped by the fabric already in the garment, so every redesign depends on construction, condition, and usable material. If extra materials are needed, they are quoted separately.

Appointment-led fittings

Each fitting is handled by appointment, with time set aside for careful adjustments and practical discussion. We also review the fit again at collection when needed.

Made for lasting wear

We work with people who value sustainability, vintage clothing, and garments with personal history. The goal is to keep useful pieces in circulation for longer.
